We are so pleased to announce that Pierce County’s first and only adult social day respite center will be opening on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Until now residents of our county with memory loss or physical frailties have not had a safe and stimulating place to go for a few hours or the day while their caregivers take some time for themselves.
Three years ago, the Mission Board of the First Congregational United Church of Christ identified a need in our community for a social day respite center. One year ago, a group of church and community members got to work to bring this vision to fruition.
On October 3, 2017, Among Friends will open its doors to anyone over 60 with memory loss or physical frailties or those with with young onset dementia. Anyone living within Pierce County is eligible for this community service.
We cannot wait to meet new friends whose lives will be enriched by this program in River Falls.
